Fotios Takianos was born on April 14, 1969, in Thessaloniki. He played professionally for various clubs in Greece and won the Korac Cup with PAOK in 1994.
He began his coaching career in 2004 as an assistant and debuted as a head coach in 2007, taking charge of the Greek team «Panorama.» Since then, he worked in various clubs in Greece, Qatar, Cyprus, and Kosovo.
In the 2021/22 season, while working with the team «Larisa,» he reached the semi-final series of the Greek championship. He earned the title of Coach of The Year in the league, securing two playoff victories against EuroLeague contender «Panathinaikos.»
PAOK was his most recent team, where he served as coach starting from February 2023.
