Basketball - is one of the most exciting sports. Playing basketball helps to develop persistence, courage, determination, honesty, self-confidence, and community skills. Basketball is an exciting athletic game. Such a team sport like basketball helps to succeed in community, make friends, teaches to be responsible not only for yourself but also for the whole team, foster the spirit of competition. Basketball develops not only physically, but also helps to adapt to society, to identify yourself.
About academy
The official opening of the Astana Children's Basketball Academy took place on January 12, 2017. The very idea of creating the «Academy» was nurtured by the organizers for several years, and in 2016, comprehensive work was begun to implement the project.
Objectives: The main objective of the Academy is to develop harmonious personality with the character of the winner and the ability of teamwork. Not only physically we train the child, but also develop him intellectually, as well as organize his cultural leisure. Individual positive approach to each child is the foundation of the Academy training system, which will result in the formation of a strong bond FAMILY-SCHOOL-ACADEMY.
Goals: The project embodies the precatory of the Head of State to develop popular sports, especially among the younger generation, targeting to cover no less than one third of the population of Kazakhstan. We aim at building a solid base for the development of basketball in the country and then receiving higher sports education. In this context it seems crucial that the younger generation having interest in sports are distracted from the evil influence of the medium.
The Astana Children's Basketball Academy meets all international requirements, it is equipped with all the necessary professional equipment, including a game uniform for children.
Paid training
Tuition at the Astana Children's Basketball Academy is 25,000 tenge per month and includes three one-hour lessons per week.
A free trial lesson is available.
Payment is made to the club's bank account via the Halyk Bank app.

- Doctor's certificate stating that there are no contraindications for basketball

- Ilya Pestov, Pavel Sonnov, Arsen Talgatov, Nurmukhammad Adilbek, and Islam Dzharekeev, along with coaches Nikita Galiakhmetov and Anton Ponomaryov, as members of the Kazakhstan U-16 National Team, won the qualification tournament “FIBA CABA Tournament U-16” (Samarkand, Uzbekistan).

- Ilya Pestov, Abylaikhan Zhandarbek, Zakhar Medovskoy, and Bogdan Boyko were selected for the U-18 National Team. Anton Ponomaryov continued his work with the youth national team as Assistant Head Coach. Representatives of “Astana” participated in the FIBA Asia Cup held in Jordan.
- Ilya Pestov was selected to participate in the 14th “Basketball Without Borders” camp organized by the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).
