Basketball club «Astana» in preparation for the new basketball season 2021/2022 will hold a training camp in Lithuania from September 7 to September 20.
In addition to the busy schedule of trainings on the court and in the gym, the capital's team will have to play a number of friendly matches. Four friendly games with local teams have been scheduled:
- September 9 — «Juventus», Utena
- September 11 — «Labas Gas», Prienai
- September 17 — «CBet», Jonava
- September 18 — «VEF», Riga
Also, on September 13 and 14, our guys will take part in the pre-season tournament at Raimundo Sarguno Cup in the city of Panevezys. On the first day in the semifinals they will play with the «Ogre» team, and in the match for the main trophy or the third place they will be playing either against the tournament hosts «Lietkabelis» or the Estonian team «Parnu».
The results of the games will be published on social network pages. Unfortunately, there online broadcasts won't be available.
Preparation of «Astana» for the upcoming season began in mid-August in Nur-Sultan. During this time, Kazakhstani players and newcomers
Mark Tikhonenko and
Oleg Balashov, who had arrived in the capital, have already performed a large amount of training under the new coach
Darko Russo. All players are doing a great and working with great diligence.
New foreign players
Skylar Spencer,
Anthony Hickey and
Jaylen Burford. Hill will join the team at the training camp in Lithuania. In the full roster «Astana» will work on tactical developments and new game combinations, which will most effectively prepare them for the new season.
The season for «Astana» will start with the away series of the National League against «Atyrau». In the VTB United League, the yellow-turquoise squat will start on October 4 in the northern capital of Russia with a match against «Zenit», then play with «Nizhny Novgorod», which will take place on October 10. Our guys will play their first home game on October 16 against the Polish «Zielona Gora».
