Kazakhstan’s U18 national team have won the CABA U18 Qualifiers in Tashkent, finishing top of the Central Asian region and securing a place at the FIBA U18 Men’s Asia Cup 2026 in Qatar.
For Astana, it’s especially encouraging to see three Astana Zhastar players — Sayan Mamutov, Sanzhar Aubakirov, and Elzhan Amantai — play an important role in that success.
Sayan Mamutov was named tournament MVP, averaging 18.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.
Sanzhar Aubakirov earned a spot in the All-Star Five, putting up 8.6 points and 3.6 rebounds on average.
Elzhan Amantai also made a strong contribution, averaging 9.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game.
The Astana Zhastar players were a big part of Kazakhstan’s overall performance and played their role in securing qualification for the Asia Cup.
