The capital side set to host Caspiy in its first home series of the season.
Basketball Club Astana is back on its home court, gearing up for the first home games of the 2025/26 Kazakhstan National League season.
On 3 and 4 November, Astana will take on Caspiy — the reigning national champions and Kazakhstan Cup holders — at the Saryarka Republican Velodrome. Tip-off for both games is at 20:00.
Over the off-season, Caspiy underwent major changes. The club appointed former national team head coach Evgeny Ovsyannikov, while former Astana player Vadim Dots also joined the squad. As usual, Caspiy’s roster features several players from Kazakhstan’s national team. So far this season, Vladimir Ivanov leads the team with 19 points per game, while Maxim Marchuk has been filling the stat sheet with 10 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals on average.
Astana has made a strong start to the new campaign. E.J. Day has been the team’s main offensive spark, averaging 18 points and 7 assists per game, while Ruslan Aitkali leads on the glass with 6.25 rebounds per game.
The teams have met 63 times, with Astana winning 57 of those matchups. But Caspiy’s win in the 2025 Kazakhstan Cup semi-finals still lingers — and this week’s games are a perfect chance for Astana to even the score on home soil.
Caspiy enters the series still chasing its first win of the season after four straight losses, while Astana will look to keep its winning streak alive and strengthen its position near the top of the table.
