Basketball Club Astana held its annual media day on 27 August — a key milestone in the team’s preparations for the 2025/26 season.
The event brought the players together for an official photoshoot, capturing both individual portraits and team shots that will shape the club’s media content for the season ahead. Alongside the visual production, players also filmed content for the club’s digital platforms.
Journalists from leading sports outlets including Qazsport, Sport Plus, and Khabar attended the session, taking the opportunity to speak with players and coaching staff. The team shared insights into their pre-season training, reflected on their goals for the year, and spoke about the challenges and excitement of competing on multiple fronts.
This season, Astana will play in both the Kazakhstan National League, where they return as reigning champions, and the FIBA West Asia Super League (WASL) — marking the club’s debut in this major international tournament. The youth squad, Astana-Zhastar, is also gearing up for its first season in the VTB United Youth League.
With local and international competitions on the horizon, media day captured more than just photos — it marked the start of what promises to be a busy and ambitious season for the club.
