Rustam Murzagaliev, Vadim Shcherbak, Askar Maidyakin, Ruslan Aitkali, and Alexander Orazbekov have been named to the extended roster for Kazakhstan's national team. These players will participate in training camps ahead of the final matches in the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers. They are set to join the national team in early February.
Kazakhstan’s basketball team will play its last two qualifying games for the 2025 Asia Cup: on 21 February against Qatar and on 24 February against Iran.
Kazakhstan currently holds 4th place in Group E. In the qualifiers so far, the team has claimed victories over India and Qatar.
It’s worth noting that 16 teams will advance to the tournament's final stage, which will be held in Saudi Arabia from 5 to 17 August 2025.
