Rustam Murzagaliyev: «I hope we will still show ourselves in the VTB United League»

The captain of Astana, Rustam Murzagaliyev, summed up the season in the VTB United League.

- First of all, I would like to thank all the fans who supported us in the VTB United League, who were there for us. Thank you even to those who criticized us because it pushed us forward.

The season was challenging: the new format meant more games, including away games. There were reasons why we couldn't win more games. Sometimes we played almost every three days, there were a lot of injuries, and unfortunately, sometimes, we didn't have enough time to recover.

On the other hand, the massive advantage of the busy schedule is that many young players could get playing time. I hope that in the future, this experience will have a positive impact on them.

Summing up the results is difficult; five wins is very little. We will learn from it, and in the next season, we will be more prepared for such a tight schedule. I hope we will still show ourselves in the VTB United League.

We continue to fight for the championship in the National League, so I want to invite all fans to our home games. Maybe for someone, it's more interesting to support us in the VTB United League. However, the national championship is also very important to us, and many exciting matches are still ahead. So I will be happy to see everyone who comes to support the team!
