The opponent is Avtodor from Saratov. It was against this team that the capital's team played its first match in the current championship draw — Kazakhstan lost on the road with a score of 72:94.

Recently, our rivals signed two more quality defenders — Vaughn and Johnson. Against «Astana» we will play again not in full force. Garrett, Boatwright and Kolesnikov will definitely not help us. We do not yet know if Zagorac will take part in the match, as the forward is worried about his back. Pranauskis, who had a fever the day before, is questionable. Petenev flew to Kazakhstan but hasn't trained with us for the last 20 days. In any case, we will try to do everything in our power, and then we'll see what happens,” Avtodor head coach Darko Russo said before the game.

Despite a series of defeats, Astana is playing better with each match — this is noted, among other things, by representatives of the opposing teams. Therefore, from today's fight we should expect a stubborn struggle from both teams.

Astana played another home game in the VTB United League and won a long-awaited victory.

In a challenging game, Avtodor from Saratov was beaten with a difference of only one point — 70:69.

The first quarter ended with the hosts' victory with a score of 21:19, but the guests seized the initiative in the second and third quarters. As a result, the teams entered the final segment with a score of 52:62 in favor of Avtodor.

Despite this, Oleg Kiselyov's team was able to close the gap and take the lead at the end of the match, albeit with a minimal margin. After what was thought to be the final score was set on the scoreboard, there were still one and a half minutes to play. During this time, the teams took time out several times, and the outcome could have changed several times — however, neither the guests realized their attacks nor Astana was able to increase the lead, despite the penalties they earned.

The best of the Kazakh team were Daniil Aksenov (24 points, 5 assists), Markell Johnson (14 points), and Michael Myers (6 points, 12 rebounds). At Avtodor, Malik Newman scored the best with 19 points.
