Less than a month passed after opening the Children's Academy of Basketball «Astana», but the group is almost full in the hall of «Nazarbayev University», and the club is now in search of additional facilities for more basketball groups for children.
Astana International School (NIS branch) responded the first. The most important thing is not just a modern sports gym, but school philosophy itself, which supports active sports students, also plays an important role. The best and easiest way to get acquainted with basketball is to play with professionals, the best representatives of this game, namely with PBC «Astana» players. In the cosy and warm atmosphere Academy head coach Dejan Parezhanin held a master-class with the support of the captain Rustam Yergali and other members of the team.
Bekbolat Zhanbyrzhan Sarsenuly, the Deputy director for Scientific and Methodical Work of the Astana International School shared his impressions:
- The organization of this event, I mean the visit of the capital basketball club has a very positive effect on the motivation of our students. They are very keen to play basketball, and to go in for a team sport. One of the goals of our school is to develop and promote a healthy lifestyle among students. Now we have basketball as a part of physical education classes. The opening of the Academy has been negotiated.
Zhomart Assenkanov, the Executive Director of PBC «Astana», also spoke out about the event:
- Our main goal is to promote basketball. In Academy our list of newcomers is constantly growing, but, unfortunately, we are limited by schedule in the gym. Therefore, we look for new opportunities to expand our Academy. We believe that a workshop of this kind will enable us to arise the interest both of children and the school for joint cooperation in the future.

In their turn, the basketball players of «Astana» invited children to the game against Estonian club «Kalev», which takes place this Sunday.
